Spine and structural pain

Spine-related pain can have many different sources, including the vertebral bodies, discs, joints, and surrounding structures. Because similar symptoms may arise from very different underlying problems, identifying the source of pain is an important part of determining the appropriate treatment.

Dr. Caldwell provides individualized evaluation and advanced interventional treatment for a range of spine and structural pain conditions. His approach focuses on understanding the underlying problem and considering minimally invasive options when appropriate, with the goal of improving function, mobility, and quality of life.

Treating the Source

Modern interventional pain care can offer options that address specific structures associated with pain rather than relying on a single treatment approach. Depending on the diagnosis, treatment may focus on the vertebral body, intervertebral discs, sacroiliac joint, or areas affected by lumbar spinal stenosis.

Dr. Caldwell offers advanced procedures including kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, basivertebral nerve ablation, Minuteman®, SI joint fusion, intradiscal injections and VIA Disc, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression (mild®).

Minimally Invasive Options

When appropriate, minimally invasive procedures may provide an alternative to more extensive intervention. Treatment selection depends on the source of pain, imaging findings, symptoms, previous treatments, and the individual needs of each patient.

Dr. Caldwell develops a personalized treatment strategy rather than approaching every type of back or structural pain in the same way.

FINDING THE RIGHT PATH FORWARD

Persistent back or structural pain does not always have a single solution. A thorough evaluation can help determine which structure may be contributing to symptoms and whether an interventional treatment may be appropriate.
